Cork Whiskey Society
Cork Whiskey Society host regular whiskey tasting events in Cork. We meet regularly to learn about the rich heritage of distilling our native spirit in Ireland, to enjoy the company of fellow whiskey-lovers and to sample interesting whiskeys that are often prohibitively rare and expensive for the individual consumer.
Merry Christmas to our many friends and to all Cork Whiskey Society members!
Please drink responsibly this festive season and, when looking for your Christmas 'Drop', why not pop into our selection, in no particular order, of the 12 City Whiskey Pubs of Corkonian Christmas.
Remember too that, since at least the 1870's, Santa's tipple of choice has been pungent Irish whiskey. The vineyards of France, and indeed throughout the rest of Europe, had been devastated by a nasty American vine louse. On Christmas Eve, alongside a carrot or two for the reindeer, the children of Britain and Ireland began to leave out traditional Irish whiskey instead of the usual brandy or cognac. And Santa's preferred taste for the traditional Irish drop has not changed just yet - so make sure you remember this on Christmas Eve 2017!
"Quite simply, we're all about whiskey"
Come to a Tasting
Tasting attendee's, including non-members, are a diverse bunch who share the enjoyment of rare whiskeys in a social setting. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the cordial, fun atmosphere. The days of stuffy, boring Society's are long gone!
Cork Whiskey Society membership is a great way to enhance your knowledge and enjoyment of mostly Irish whiskeys in the company of like-minded individuals. We've yet to find a more enjoyable way to sip fine whiskey.
Sell your Whiskey
We're always on the lookout for vintage Irish whiskeys to include in our tastings. We provide, at no obligation, expert appraisal and a means to sell on your old Irish whiskey. You may even opt to join us when we finally sample that old relic!
Cork Whiskey Society host monthly tastings in pleasant city whiskey venues e.g. Shelbourne, Oliver Plunkett, Bull McCabes, The Roundy, CoqBull, Coughlans, Costigans, The Porterhouse, Franciscan Well etc.
